A Letter to my Future Self: I Wish Us A Prosperous and Happy Journey
Dear Future Me,
I hope this letter finds you well! I hope you’re being kind to yourself (as well as others). If you’re reading this it means I did something right, that you did something right…It means our blog is still going and great things are happening. You’re moving closer towards all your dreams. I’m writing this for you because some day you may need this at your darkest hour (or hopefully your happiest), you may need a sense of certainty when you are doubting yourself most. We tend to be our biggest critic.
I’m writing this to remind you to take care of yourself, your well being mattes, your mental health matters…YOU matter. NEVER forget to take time to yourself and recollect, I know the me now is always pressing on forgetting to take a time out. So I definitely know the me a year from now or two, maybe five years or more will be quite the busy body. Somehow we don’t know how to relax even when we try our hardest. I’m here to tell you it’s okay to fight for what you want and to be ambitious but you can’t always carry everyone and everything on your shoulders…
…I want you to read this with an open mind knowing it’s okay when you can’t accomplish everything at once. It’s even MORE okay to take a day off and come back with a fresh mind and light heart. One thing I know won’t change, is us ALWAYS getting the job done. I know sometimes you don’t always believe it but YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOU THINK.
You are capable of achieving the masses! We are a force to be reckoned with and I hope this letter finds you pressing full steam ahead. I use we in the purest sense that your past has shaped you, not by our mistakes but by the warrior it birthed. Oh Lena, YOU are a warrior! All those sleepless nights, those anxious tell tale signs that you were struggling, that internal conflict you’ll learn to overcome, the emotional torment, your endless battles…you may have felt broken, but if you’re reading this you didn’t shatter.
All those tears were tears of strength because it’s okay that you fucked up and probably will still do so. You don’t have to keep up that tough exterior all the time, you don’t have to be a ball of sunshine all the time. Embrace the beautiful mess that we are! I hope this letter finds you well but more importantly I hope this reaches you at your safe haven; the internal peace you’ve always longed for. This is not an ode to narcissism but warm wishes from a younger you fighting along the bumpy road to self love.
Remember “like the wind, she is free”, free to choose, free to love and be love, free to make mistakes. May your adventures be grand and your spontaneity live on, please don’t lose your sassiness and corny ways. I hope you overcome more hardships into success…& anytime you feel your crown slipping…
…..I hope this letter finds you well!
Well dolls! I know it’s a bit different form most of my posts, but with Valentine’s fresh in the air and seeing all the gifts and such…I thought I’d write myself a love letter and gosh was this the hardest thing I’ve ever written. I made this public because this blog is a part of me and it motivates me so I thought it’d be nice to access something like this when I’m further along my journey. I hope this post finds you well and drop any comments below if you wish or follow me on Twitter for more updates, Pinterest for more pinning inspo.
Thank you for tuning in…sending loads of love!
