Some great tips here, Lena. I do all my reading in bed (paperbacks only, no Kindles or iPads allowed!) and I also find I sleep so much better in clean bedding, especially if it’s been line-dried outside. And, naughty I know, but a small glass of wine always helps me too! x

I need this! I’m the worst sleeper. I love peppermint tea but I seriously need to work on my bedtime digital detox. And you always get the best sleep with fresh sheets. So cosy! x

Ever since I was little, looking up at the stars always helped me before I went to sleep. I used to see one that would twinkle and tell myself it’s my granny or grandad.

Reading is something I might try again one day!

These are wonderful tips. There was a time when I used to have a very difficult time getting to sleep and one technique I learned was to try to relax my body from head to toe, focusing on each part as you go along. I never seem to get past my knees…. hope it helps someone else out there, too!

I was the person who used to gaze at the stars, meditate until it cleared my mind enough to sleep. With the ongoing air pollution, it just makes it harder to see any stars anymore. That mixed with light pollution. It breaks my heart.

I love these ideas Lena! πŸ’– My favourite way to doze off is to have a warm bath then do some yoga stretches. I feel so chilled afterwards! Some nights I get sucked into Twitter and spend ages on it and can never sleep easily afterwards. Oh yes, something about fresh clean sheets is so cosy! Great post girl 😘 xx

These are such great tips! I’ve noticed that meditation really does help. I started yoga recently and although it is not the same thing it has helped me with meditation and really helps me relax before going to sleep. I would definitely agree with the mad thing I can’t sleep with so many things on my mind.

I am so bad at falling asleep. My boyfriend works like magic and is asleep as soon as he hits the pillow. It usually takes me a good 30-40 minutes, but with some chocolate milk, I can cut that down to maybe 20 minutes! But hey, it’s something!

    Nice post!

Great post Lena! There’s just something about fresh sheets πŸ’™ I have the hardest time putting a book down when reading in bed. I could stay up for hours πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ It sounds silly but I like to clean something or do the dishes before bed. Something mind numbing and easy. It’s just relaxing and feels good knowing it’s done.

I really need to practice some better nighttime habits and this is a perfect post for me!! These are such nice habits to practice – especially the part about writing weekly goals! One of my favorites is writing about what I am thankful for. YES! It is so important not to go to bed angry. It makes it hard to sleep and you might have bad dreams! Thanks for the wonderful reminders β™₯

You’ve mentioned all great tips here! I agree with every single one, and actually practice them myself. Reading a calming book before bed will 95% of the time make me fall asleep all in itself! Also it’s so important to leave technology out of the bedroom. I actually don’t have my phone in the room while I sleep, because I’ll know I’ll be tempted to look through it at night. I love this post thank you for sharing!
