Hey Dolls! I’m back this week with a topic that’s important to me…SELF LOVE! I wanted my posts this month to be fun (as usual) but also to stress on positivity as we close this year off and get ready for new adventures in 2018. I think the best gift we can give each other is kindness. Show compassion and let others know they matter because you never know what their circumstances may be. Contrarily, I don’t think we talk enough about being kind to our selves. We should encourage Self Love more.
I’m not speaking of boastfulness and arrogance and by extent being mean to others. Attributes like that lead you to think you’re a notch better than the person beside you (news flash, you’re NOT). I mean a wholesome balance where you motivate, strengthen and cater to your intrinsic needs. Where you feel confident in your abilities and know it’s absolutely okay to take joy in an accomplishment.
It’s okay to feel awesome about achieving a goal, it helps you move forward, it’s a natural part of helping yourself grow. More importantly, know it’s okay to fail as long as you get back up and try to follow your passions. Leave room for error AND correction but more essentially, (if I didn’t stress it enough) be kind to yourself. Mistakes are lessons that help shape and guide us into a better person. Morphing us into more beautiful individuals. For every one mistake, they’re one hundred things you do right.
This post is lengthier than I usually try to write but I think this topic deserves attention. Some days we feel like utter crap and more or less look to others to help us feel loads better. It’s comforting knowing they’re others who genuinely care, but in all honesty, we need to hear comforting words from ourselves as well. I believe the first step starts with you!
So stop what you’re doing, go look in the mirror, stare yourself dead in the eye and repeat after me…”I am Beautiful, I am Strong, I Love MYSELF enough to know I deserve to be Happy & I am doing a GREAT Job!”
Be patient with yourself and take it one step at a time!
